Job Summary

The Foundry DFT team engages early with customer design teams to ensure best-known Design for Test (DFT) is inserted on customer products to guarantee the fastest possible product bring up and yield ramp. The Foundry DFT team is responsible for publishing DFT BKMs, create DFT reference flows, consult/guide 1st source foundry customers designing into GLOBALFOUNDRIES technology PDKs on DFT recommendations, ensure test coverage is commensurate for the Shipped Product Quality Levels and drive towards lowest cost of test by offering DFT recommendations to customers.

This posting is for a SMTS level, specializing in DFT, digital design and VLSI Test. GLOBALFOUNDRIES near- and long-term focus includes both digital SOCs and AMS/RF products. As such, candidates are expected to be an expert in at least one of the two domains with in-depth understanding of the other.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create reference SOC designs, inserting BKM DFT on the designs and consult with new customers on the value of BKM DFT on their respective designs.
  • Work closely with Fab test, product engineering, diagnostics and failure analysis organizations to drive optimal DFT recommendation to the foundry customers.
  • Work on architecting and designing On-Die Parametric monitoring structures.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications

  • MS, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience and knowledge in semiconductor test, design, timing analysis, RTL coding, physical layout tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD, Computer/Electrical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Design for Test experience and programming skill is desirable
  • Have design customer interaction experience.
  • Semiconductor industry experience in design or test
  • Understanding of test engineering, test equipment (ATE) and test operations
  • Extremely comfortable in linux environments
  • Scripting expertise in some form of scripting language (Python/PERL)
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
